Amalia Montague Health & Fitness is now 👉 Gyre Fit Studios


Say hello to Gyre Fit Studios!


Nearly two and a half years ago I started Amalia Montague Health & Fitness primarily offering personal training services.


Last Spring I started to add group exercise classes and then Pilates classes to the schedule alongside personal training with all areas going from strength to strength.


As the business, and my skill set as a coach/instructor have evolved over the past couple of years, I feel that the business has outgrown (in a very good way) the existing brand and it's time for a change that reflects the amazing community that I have the absolute privilege to coach and spend time with.


So why Gyre?


Gyre (pronounced "jai-uh") means circle or ring. In literature and poetry "gyre" can symbolise a cycle, evolution, or transformation. I feel this word really captures the ethos of our community and the coaching methods offered.


This fresh new look also sets the scene for future projects and collaborations with other fitness professionals to bring clients the very best in holistic health and fitness. A huge thank you to ALL of my clients who have not only been instrumental in making this even possible but have been very supportive with this exciting rebrand!

Client of the Month


The Gyre Fit Studios client of the month for October is Paul Fritche!

Paul is a competitive glider pilot and former physiotherapist and has been attending my circuits classes consistently for nearly a year. He has also attended a number of my strength & conditioning classes and the Sunday Run Clinic too!


When I first met Paul he mentioned that he was preparing for gliding competitions and wanted to make sure he was in good physical shape for these events. He has suffered with lower back issues and exercises such as squats, lunges and sit ups where a bit of a challenge when it came to range of movement.


With his most important event coming up in December - the World Gliding Championships in Australia, Paul has shown what a dedicated sportsperson does to prepare for competition! He has knuckled down and not only been relentlessly honing his gliding skills he has been so committed to improving his fitness!


Paul's transformation over the past year has been awesome! Aside from classes, Paul also runs regularly and has his nutrition in check to support his goal. During classes I've noticed a huge change in the way he performs exercises and how his range of movement has improved as well as his cardio endurance.


Absolutely fantastic work Paul! Not only are you a dedicated member of our tribe you are also huge amounts of fun to have in class! Wishing you a very successful competition in Australia, you will do brilliantly!



Circuits is back in Heene Church Rooms

With the arrival of autumn (although it does still feel like summer!) our circuits class is moving back inside Heene Church Rooms, Heene Road from Tuesday 3rd October until end of March 2024. We had such a great time in this venue last year and feel very blessed that we can have this space again. Thank you so much to Diane at St Botolph's Church for having us!

If you haven't yet tried this class it is a super fun session full of different exercises to support strength and cardiovascular fitness. It is suitable for ALL fitness levels and is limited to 15 participants so you all have space to move freely and I can spend more time with each of you during class. Your first class is FREE so why not come and give it a try where you will get a lot of support and encouragement from myself and the rest of the group!
