Embracing New Beginnings

It has been quite a summer and I'm constantly pinching myself to check that all the amazing things happening in our community is actually happening! And it is! : ) At the end of last month we welcomed two new Pilates classes into the fold on a Monday morning at East Worthing Community Centre and a Friday morning at Sidney Walter Centre. These classes were given to me by the lovely Lucy Khan who has now moved on to teach First Aid Training locally. Lucy is a fantastic teacher and knew I had big shoes to fill! I LOVE teaching so much but I was still a little nervous about taking existing classes on but everyone has been so incredibly lovely and welcoming.

But the excitement doesn't stop there! From Thursday of this week we will be welcoming another lovely Pilates class to our community. This class takes place at All Saints Church Hall, Findon Valley and will be added to the general class schedule at the beginning of October.

This really is an exciting time and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to coach you all whether it's Pilates, Personal Training, or Group Exercise.

Here's to your health & fitness and a fantastic September! : )

Client of the Month

The AMHF client of the month for September is Sheila Jacks!

Sheila has been having 1:1 coaching with me for about a year. Her goal to start with was to get her body moving more freely and reduce general aches and pains.

We began with gentle Pilates sessions working on mobility, core strength, and flexibility steadily increasing range of movement and progressing to more challenging Pilates exercises.

Sheila's progress and confidence grew and we added an additional 1:1 strength training session to the weekly schedule (at her request I might add!) working with free weights as well as body weight exercises.

I am incredibly impressed with Sheila's commitment and also proactive approach to her health and fitness. She has not only improved her mobility and strength hugely, Sheila has also got herself into a fantastic routine with her nutrition resulting in significant weight loss.

Bravo Sheila! I'm so extremely proud of you and what you've achieved so far! You really do embody the mantra "enjoy the process" which is such an inspiration and is key to sustainable healthy living. It's a privilege to be your coach and I'm excited for you and the next stage of your journey!

Retreat Success!

On the evening of the 19th August I held my very first Pilates retreat at the Let's Retreat yurts just on the outskirts of Angmering. Once we had all settled in the larger of the two yurts, we kicked things off with a 45mins Pilates class. After a short break we then did a 45mins dedicated stretch class. To compliment both of these classes, Sports & Holistic Massage Therapist Jade Foster provided mini massages to each participant in the second smaller yurt.

It was such a lovely group and really enjoyed teaching in such a beautiful space. We were also very blessed with the weather and were able to sit outside for a chat afterwards with some food, drink and even got the fire pit going!

A huge thank you to everyone that came! To Jade for providing such amazing massages and of course to Rachel at Let's Retreat for all the support in getting this event off the ground.

More events like this will be available in 2024 and will be announced soon.

Much love, Amalia Amalia Montague Health & Fitness
